Bermuda (2012)

My journey

This trip was my first cruise as well as my first time travelling without family. However, I was still a minor and travelled with a childhood friend and her parents. We drove from Montreal to Boston and then took the cruise ship from Boston all the way to Bermuda. The journey was about three days in total and was the most entertaining way of travelling. The best thing about this trip? The sea. I personally adore the sea, any chance that allows me to see water (especially ocean/sea waters) I will run to it.

Recommened Attractions

Horseshoe bay Beach
One of my favourite beaches that I’ve ever visited. Located on the south part of the island, the beach makes a horseshoe shape and is covered in pink sand. Horseshoe bay Beach also has many coves. One in particular is called Port royal cove, where you can climb in and out of the rocky areas and explore for more variety of fish and species.
Snorkeling
One of the most popular activities to do when in bermuda is snorkeling. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom just from floating above. With snorkeling, it allows you get real up close with the many colored fish and coral of the bermudan waters. Not only can you explore the species of the sea with visible sight, but can also witness year old shipwrecks that lay at the bottom of the sea. It really is a fascinating sight and highly recommended.

Travel Tips

Beware of pickpockets and general crime as it is very common in public areas. Make sure to wear lots and sunscreen as well as a hat as the sun is extremely strong. The island is so small that one could bike/scooter to the other side of the island within an hour, so renting scooters or bikes is a great option for travelling considering the roads are small and tight as well.
